## Summary

Senior full-stack developer with eighteen years shipping production web and mobile software, most of it as the engineer accountable for the thing working. Comfortable from data model and API design through interface, accessibility and launch, and used to being the person who writes the spec as well as the code. Currently a software engineer at FoodReady, where the work runs from platform rebrand and UI implementation to AI-driven marketing systems and internal tooling, alongside building mobile applications and custom platforms at Modernaut — including chillswitch, a React Native app now in beta.

## Experience

### Software Engineer — FoodReady

_Apr 2025 — Present · Remote_

- Led the platform rebrand and owned UI and UX implementation across the SaaS product and its marketing sites, carrying the new identity from design system through to shipped interface.
- Architected AI-driven marketing systems, including programmatic SEO pipelines and content built to be retrieved by language models as well as ranked by search engines.
- Built internal APIs and automation workflows in Nx, Node.js and TypeScript with BetterAuth and n8n, so integrations and content generation scale without a new service per feature.
- Established the engineering onboarding path and its documentation, which is what moved AI-assisted development from individual experiment to team practice and measurably raised velocity.

### Senior Web Application Developer — Modernaut

_Jul 2022 — Present · Portland, ME_

- Build scalable SaaS web and mobile products in TypeScript across Next.js, AdonisJS and React Native, on headless architectures with GraphQL and REST APIs over PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Ship iOS and Android from a single React Native and Expo codebase, including push notifications, offline behaviour and App Store and Play Store submission.
- Design and build a modular CMS platform, Adonis EOS, whose content modules, roles and workflows are defined in code and registered on boot.
- Integrate AI where it earns its place: OpenAI and Anthropic product features, agent tooling and Model Context Protocol servers for editorial workflows.
- Publish reusable Node.js packages aimed at the administrative experience, on the argument that backend UX decides whether software is actually maintained.
- Deploy across Vercel, AWS and self-hosted Coolify with S3 storage, and hold Jest coverage on the paths where a regression would be expensive.

### Senior Web Developer — Page One Web Solutions

_Feb 2020 — Sep 2024 · Portland, ME_

- Led full-stack LAMP and CMS delivery across WordPress and HubSpot, integrating Stripe and WooCommerce for transactional clients.
- Overhauled a legacy WordPress codebase and maintained the Pantheon core WordPress Git upstream in PHP, SASS, React, Node.js and TypeScript inside Dockerised environments.
- Introduced a written specification process, documented SOPs and Kanban ticketing, which ended the mid-sprint scope changes the team had been absorbing.
- Authored a modular design-to-development workflow with custom Gutenberg blocks, built jointly with design from Figma and Adobe XD.
- Built and maintained headless CMS architectures so front ends could be replaced without touching the content layer.
- Built a custom OpenAI plugin for content and design generation inside Gutenberg, before that was a category.
- Trained the team on backend UX and frontend SEO, and cut load times through S3 offloading and CSS and JS aggregation.

### Senior Web Developer — Vital Design

_Sep 2016 — Feb 2020 · Portsmouth, NH_

- Built enterprise WordPress solutions with custom plugins and Gutenberg blocks in ES6, React and SASS, with editing experience treated as a first-class requirement.
- Led full-stack LAMP delivery on high-profile Drupal builds, including Sig Sauer.
- Developed and maintained e-commerce on WooCommerce, Stripe and Authorize.net, and kept Shopify projects current.
- Ran Salesforce integrations and delivered custom email templates for Lindt Chocolate on a weekly cycle.
- Co-authored the SEO and accessibility SOPs the team built against, making compliant markup the default rather than a retrofit.
- Delivered pixel-accurate builds from Illustrator, Adobe XD and Sketch, and handled version control and release coordination in Git.

### Senior Web Application Developer — Piehead (now Union Resolute)

_Apr 2013 — Sep 2016 · Portsmouth, NH_

- Led full-stack LAMP delivery for Roblox, NBC, Showtime, Nickelodeon, Comcast and Unreal Candy.
- Authored business requirement documents, project contracts, technical specifications and flowcharts, and established the development and QA process the studio ran on.
- Contributed to the SaaS build of Oomiji CRM and helped develop a custom MVC framework behind it.
- Built reusable Git-based codebases in PHP, SASS and JavaScript for WordPress, Drupal and Laravel work.
- Implemented and maintained CRM in HubSpot and Salesforce, coordinating with internal and client project managers through Jira.

### Partner & Web Developer — Primal Media

_Jan 2009 — Apr 2013 · Portsmouth, NH_

- Delivered full-stack LAMP e-commerce in Drupal for clients including Ramblers Way and Luke’s Local.
- Adopted responsive design, SEO and WCAG standards years before either was a default expectation.
- Provided design and UX in Illustrator and Photoshop, supporting a single design-to-development workflow as a partner in the business.

### Co-Founder & Interactive Director — Boldwerks

_May 2009 — Jan 2011 · Portsmouth, NH_

- Co-founded the studio and directed interactive production end to end, from pitch and scope through build and launch.
- Planned and built websites and applications in Drupal and WordPress for high-profile clients including the American Red Cross.
- Made SEO part of the build rather than a later engagement, years before that became the industry default.

### Web Developer — Bresette + Company

_Jun 2008 — May 2009 · Portsmouth, NH_

- Served as the agency’s sole web developer, architecting its core codebase and delivering full-stack LAMP work across a broad client roster.
- Engineered custom CMS implementations in Symfony, Drupal and WordPress, moving legacy static sites onto dynamic, maintainable foundations.
- Authored the agency’s standard frontend and backend libraries in PHP, JavaScript and CSS, so each project started from shared code rather than from the last project’s.
